Developments around the tower
Our Dubai apartments are located in the Dubai Marina area in the heart of New Dubai. This extraordinary development will become the world’s largest man-made marina when it is completed. Until such a time however, guests should be aware that several developments continue to take place in the area surrounding the Tower as skyscrapers, residential towers, office complexes and shopping malls take shape around the waterfront. Working hours often occur around the clock and visual and/or audio disturbances can be experienced.
Guests staying from September 2008 onwards
We are pleased to inform you that the Oasis Beach Tower is now officially a standalone premium property and since the closure of the Oasis Beach Hotel on 29th August 2008, the facilities of this hotel are regrettably no longer available for guests.
Destruction of building towards the Arabian Gulf side
Work has also started with the destruction of the physical building previously operated as Oasis Beach Hotel and there are two cranes on the western edge of the site, dislodging pieces of the building. Destruction is taking place during daylight hours only from approximately 10am to 6pm with noise disturbance audible when there is impact with the existing structure. Considering the state of progress so far it is difficult to estimate the time frame during which the destruction will continue, however the present estimation is until mid to late March 2009. Kindly note the site is managed entirely independent and with no involvement from Jebel Ali International Hotels.
Development of 13-floor office block on Dubai Marina side
The 13 storey Al Fattan House (offices) is currently being developed behind Oasis Beach Tower on the Dubai Marina side opposite the pool deck. Construction has approximately reached its 4th floor, with some noise disturbance that can be heard from the Oasis Beach Tower pool deck. Regular construction equipment including one crane is utilized onsite. The work is taking place from approximately 10am to 6pm and there are around 20 workers on the site during these times.
New restaurant for Oasis Beach Tower guests
In our efforts to continuously upgrade our services and the facilities offered to your clients, we are delighted to advise that that the Oasis Beach Tower is currently in the process of developing a new all day dining restaurant which is due for completion early May 2009. The restaurant will feature a Mediterranean theme and will be situated on the shopping area which connects the Oasis Beach Tower and Al Fattan Marine Tower. Physical development of the restaurant will start in January 2009 with work taking place from 10am to 6pm. Minimal noise disturbance and zero visual disturbances are anticipated for guests, as the entire site is completely screened off and not visible to guests. In the mean time however, the independently-managed Frankie’s Italian Bar & Grill, Wagamama and Mai Tai Lounge by Trader Vic’s, continue to operate very successfully in the Oasis Beach Tower with very positive guest feedback.
New Conference Facilities – Second Floor
State of the art conference and meeting facilities will also be developed on the second floor of the Oasis Beach Tower, due for completion in early May 2009. Kindly note that works on the dumb waiter from 11th to 22nd January 2009 are likely to cause significant noise disturbance. Noise disturbance to a lesser extent will continue afterwards as a result of the coring works.
