Lost and Found Policy at Hotel
Establishments

In accordance with the Federal Penalties Law,
handing over a found item to the finder is considered a crime. |
| 2. |
Hotel establishment should deliver old found items to the
police warehouse belonging to the General Administration for
Community Service located in Al Qusais area. The contact person is

Lost items cannot be classified by the Police as valuable and
non valuable since an item may have a sentimental value to its
owner much higher than the material cost. |

Hotel establishments must abide by the following
procedures: |

The hotel establishment must record all the lost
items in a log available for police inspection. |
| b. |
After three months, all the found items must be handed to the
nearest police station. For example, Marriot Hotel Station should
hand over found items to Muraqabat Police Station; where as Shangri
La Hotel should deal with Bur Dubai Police Station. Found items
shall be kept at the Police warehouse for a period of 3 months
after which they would be auctioned and the income would be given
to charity. |

Hotel establishments must inform their guests about the lost
and found policy on the hotel website, so that the guest may know
the course of action the hotel establishment would take. |
