Dubai, 24th November 2009 – Having prepared extravagant meals for dignitaries and celebrities, Chef Babu Khan comes to Hatta with distinct culinary mastery. Known for his unrelenting creativity in the kitchen, Chef Khan has returned to Hatta Fort Hotel as Executive Chef after leaving in 2001. Chef Khan spent 18 years in Hatta Fort Hotel were he started as 1st commis. Most recently he served as Executive chef of the Sohar Beach hotel in Oman while previously serving in the same position in different hotels in the UAE and Lebanon.
In his new role, Chef Khan oversees all food outlets at the hotel, including Jeema restaurant, Gazebo Café, Sunset Lounge, room service, catering and special events at the hotel. One of his first tasks at Hatta Fort Hotel he and his culinary team successfully prepared outstanding meals over the duration of month for the Community Development Authority, serving more that 300 people every weekend. At a young age Chef Khan found his love of cooking while studying and all he ever wanted to do was cook. He is now vice president of The Oman Chef Guild, one of the founders of Emirates Culinary Guild and is certified from City &Guild. Throughout his 26-year career in hospitality he won several silver and bronze medals and is certified by many recognised international culinary organisations. The Hatta Fort Hotel is an exclusive mountain retreat situated less than an hour from Dubai. Spacious deluxe chalet-style rooms and suites offer breathtaking views onto the striking mountain scenery, and excellent cuisine is served in the glass-enclosed Café Gazebo and gourmet Jeema restaurant.
